After such an enjoyable time in Kamuli the day before, we were ready to get back to work at the babies' home on Day 9. We spent the majority of the day finishing up the painting, and loving the babes.
Painted AROUND the hen's tail... at last!
All finished :)We pray we accomplished the goal of making the walls brighter and happier for the kids and the Aunties!
This was our last day at the babies' home, so we said our goodbyes - to the Aunties, above...
as well as to Sharon, and all of the precious kids.
Click below for a video of our time spent at Arise and Shine Uganda Babies' Home! It sure was special.
AASU does the very best with what they have, but their resources are SO limited. The Aunties, most of which have their own children/families, work every day at AASU to care for the orphans, and often this is with no pay, as available funds are always first used to care for the children. As such, child sponsorships are so needed and appreciated. A family, business, or organization can sponsor a child for $70 a month or can be paired with someone else for a co-sponsorship fee of $35/month.
One way Mommas on a Mission is helping AASU Babies' Home, is by continuing to fundraise, here in the states. We have started the Arise and Shine Uganda Babies' Home blog, for a place to stay updated on what's happening at AASU, and to purchase handmade-in-Uganda beads and bags. Also, recently, t-shirts have become available for purchase! These shirts were designed and printed in Uganda :) Cost is $20 (Please add $3 for shipping.) Be sure to check them out, and thank you so much for your support!
